Solve Eternity II board game by arranging the 256 puzzle pieces in a 16x16 square so that the colours and pattern of each internal edge of every piece match the adjoining edge of the piece next to it. With no single way of completing the puzzle, but thousands, Eternity II is a real challenge. Sound easy?
Eternity II has 256 numbered puzzle pieces. Remove the pieces from the outer frames and check that all pieces (1256) are present.
Solving Eternity II: Make a square from all the pieces, With the grey ones round the border; Place the starter-piece correctly; Match all touching pairs of edges Do it first and win US$2 Million!
Place starter-piece 139 as shown on the board. Then place all the other pieces, with the grey edges around the outside. Match all colours and symbols on as many adjoining pairs of edges as you can.
When you have placed as many pieces as you can, please complete a copy of the entry form enclosed with your puzzle or download a copy from the 'Downloads' section of this website eternityII.com. In Box 1 at the top of the form, write your name, age, address and a daytime telephone number.
In the small ovals between cells, tick each matching pair of edges; (the colours and the symbols must match). Leave ovals between unmatched pairs of edges blank. Count how many ovals you ticked. Your score (maximum 480) is the total number of correctly-matched pairs of edges. Write your score in box 2 at the top right of the form. In each cell on the form, write and underline the number on the back of the piece you put in that cell on the board.
Submitting Your Entry: Please put your entry in a sealed envelope with your score written at the top left. Send it by registered mail to Eternity II Adjudicators, 117 Smug Oak Business Centre, Lye Lane, Bricket Wood, ST. ALBANS, AL2 3UG, England, to arrive no later than noon GMT on 31 December 2008, the first scrutiny date, and thereafter, if there is no outright winner, by noon GMT on 31 December 2009 and 2010, the second and third scrutiny dates.
